Happy Tuesday, Silver Spring! Here are five things you need to know as you start your day.

Happy Tuesday, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know today, to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Throughout the day you can expect rain with temperatures reaching 66 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Into the evening, showers are expectd to continue, with temperatures dropping to about 50.

2. Enjoy an evening at the Strathmore with 18-time Grammy Award-winning artist Pat Metheny at 8 p.m. Prices range from $38 to $78.

3. If you missed it, a Silver Spring woman ran an endurance marathon in honor of her mother who passed away earlier this year. In her blog post, Marci Goldberg said her mom "was 'Marathon Mom' because she always came to cheer me on at swim meets, marathons and triathlons."

4. If you like to sing, please feel free to attend their rehearsals from 7:30 to 10 p.m.

5. Tiffany Thompson, a Washington, DC-based singer-songwriter, is set to play at Veterans Plaza. Thompson’s rich, clear voice brings to life her poetic and personal lyrics, reminding listeners of Colbie Caillat, Priscilla Ahn and Norah Jones. Playing both piano and guitar, Thompson’s story-telling style helps her attract fans of all ages.
