Happy Friday, Silver Spring! Here are five things to know today, to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Expect sunny skies with temperatures reaching a high near 70 degrees, according to the National Weather Service. Later into the evening, the temperatures are expected to drop to the low 50s.

Overall, the weather looks sunny for the weekend and on Columbus Day. Temperatures are expected to climb to the high 70s in the afternoons and drop into the low 50s in the evenings.

2. Flu season is approaching, and Montgomery County recently anounced that it is sponsoring vaccination clinics around the region. Visits are by appointment only.
