A Tasty Experience in Fenton Village

The second annual Taste the World in Fenton Village on Sunday will bring 24 restaurants together to celebrate international cuisines and music.

Fenton Village is located between Wayne, Georgia and Burlington avenues and Fenton Street. It costs $2 to $5 for appetizers or tasting plates from local restaurants.

“Our restaurant has been serving Silver Spring for 28 years and is a proud member of the Fenton Village community,” said Suton Thumprasert, owner of , in a press release about the event. “We are excited to see the arrival of other restaurants over the last few years, which have helped Fenton Village earn a reputation as a global community.”

The event, hosted by the Silver Spring Citizens Advisory Board and the Silver Spring Town Center Inc., starts at 1 p.m. where Taste the World passports can be picked up at Parking Lot 3 on Fenton Street between Thayer and Silver Spring avenues. Attendees will receive stamps from each restaurant visited, and at the end of their journey, they can submit the passport to be entered into a raffle for prizes from local merchants at 5 p.m.

Along with food, entertainment includes Caribbean beat band Eastern Standard Time, 13-year-old electric guitarist Isaiah “Izzy” Lemons, rock band Shock Holiday and 2007 American Idol Contestant Allen Mills, according to the event website.
