A coalition of advocates came together to push for a law that would require paid sick days for workers in Maryland's private sector. They say paid sick days prevent the spread of illnesses and are a necessity for employees with children. However, the Maryland Chamber of Commerce and Restaurant Association of Maryland say paid sick days could hurt small businesses.
