Happy Wednesday, Silver Spring! Here are five things you need to know as you start off the middle of the week.

Good Morning! There are many events today for the smallest Silver Spring residents. Here are five things you need to know to stay up-to-date about what’s going on in the community today:

1. Carry an umbrella because there is a chance of showers with thunderstorms also possible after 11 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. The day will be mostly cloudy with a high of 87 degrees, and in the evening expect showers and a low of 68 degrees.

2. Today is the day for the weekly . All kids are invited to the downstairs area at 10:30 a.m. Call 301-891-2667 for more information.

3. Kids can also head downtown for at 10:30 a.m. This event would be a good time for families to take advantage of the store closing discounts ranging from 10 to 40 percent off merchandise.

4. in Veterans Plaza today with shows at 10:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. A local dad and musician, Mr. Gabe's performance can be enjoyed by the entire family.
