2. WALKING TOUR TO SILVER SPRING'S ORIGINAL “SILVER” SPRING

Where/When:  located at 8100 Georgia Avenue on August 6 from 10:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

Why Go: Learn about the spring after which our community was named and other historic sites surrounding the B&O Railroad Station.

3. PARTICIPATE IN A MAGIC SCIENCE EXPERIMENT

Where/When: at 8901 Colesville Road on August 6 from 11:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m.

Why Go: Watch the by Mad Science and learn the science behind magic, see some indoor fireworks, and experience bubbling potions. The show is recommended for kids age four and up.

4.  FARMER'S MARKET ON ELLSWORTH DRIVE

Where/When: Weekly on Saturdays on Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street between 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Why Go:  To see what's new at the market this summer and feed your family fresh fruits and vegetables.

Pricing: Price varies at different stands.

5. CELEBRATE THE CULTURE OF THE IVORY COAST

Where/When: Downtown street festival at 916 Ellsworth Drive on Sunday, August 7 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Why Go: Enjoy activities, performances and exhibits at the  which celebrates the culture of the Ivory Coast and honors Ivory Coast independence. The event is hosted by "La Main Tendue" - The Reach Out Hand.
