Grab & Go Kids Planner: Feb. 23 through March 2

The weather hasn't completely warmed up yet, but there's lots to do indoors near Silver Spring this week.

It's Wednesday, and that means it's time to check out our Grab & Go Kids Planner to see what Silver Spring has to offer kids and families this week. As always, we'd love to hear from you if there are any local, family-friendly events that we missed. Let us know, and we'll be sure to keep an eye out for them in the future.

Want to get out of the house without getting too cold? If you feel like you've been cooped up long enough and just want to have some fun, look no further. Here are some exciting options for the family that are not too far from home:

•  AND POTLUCK DINNER
Where/When: Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Seeker's Church
Why Go: If you've been hesitant to take the kids to a service because they'll get bored or just won't be able to sit still, this service is probably what you've been looking for. Enjoy some community time at the potluck dinner, as well.
Pricing: There is no charge for this event, but each family is asked to bring a vegetarian potluck dish.

• FAMILY FUN NIGHT: 
Where/When: Get your dancing shoes on and head over to  on Friday at 6:30 p.m.
Why Go: Have a blast dancing, and help out the fourth-graders at Rolling Terrace Elementary School.

Where/When:  on Saturday at 2 p.m.
Why Go: This is the last of this year's local Chinese New Year celebrations! Don't miss out on a chance for the whole family to watch an amazing performance.

• BLACK HISTORY MONTH  
Where/When: The historic Josiah Henson Special Park is where you'll find the poets on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Why Go: As Black History Month comes to an end, the whole family can to listen to poets read about the Underground Railroad, slavery and freedom.

• CAMP AHAVA  
Where/When:  on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Why Go: We believe FREE and FUN are a great combination. Add to that a chance to learn about a local camp for the kids, and what more could you ask for?
