Guide to Labor Day Weekend Events

Five events you will be sure to remember!

Labor Day weekend is here! If you can't go away, a staycation is just fine. Let's get to the events you need to know!

1. In Kensington, the Labor Day parade starts from the intersection of St. Paul and Plyers Mill and continues South along Connecticut, East along Baltimore, Northeast along Carroll, South along Montgomery, East onto Kent, North along Kensington Pkwy (Grandstand) and end at Howard and Fawcett.

2. The DC Blues Festival on Saturday, Sept. 3. There will be a variety of local musicians jamming out! The free festival kicks off at the Carter Barron Amphitheater located in Rock Creek Park, 3545 Williamsburg Lane, NW.  

Time: 1 p.m. to 7 p.m

3. Take the time to teach your kids about a historic figure. Visit the Martin Luther King Memorial which is located between the Lincoln Memorial and the Jefferson Memorial in Washington, D.C. 

Time: Varies.

4. The Maryland State Fair is going on until Sept. 5! Take advantage of the rides, animals and hours of other entertainment. Prices are $8 for adults, $6 for seniors (62 and over), children ages 6 to 11 are $3, and children 5 and under are free.

Time: 5:30 p.m.

5. The in Annapolis is going on until Oct. 23. Everyone can take a part in fun activities and games, watch jousts and shows, eat some turkey legs, see knights, princesses, amazing costumes and so much more!
