VIDEO: Montgomery County Celebrates Vietnam Veterans

On Wednesday, March 30 the Montgomery County Commission on Veterans Affairs hosted their second Annual vietnam veterans welcome home reunion in honor of those who served in Southeast Asia and during the Vietnam War.

During the reception in the Silver Spring Civic Building, County Executive and Vietnam Veteran, Isiah Legget presented the commission with a proclamation by Montgomery County naming March 30, 2011 as Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day. Leggett also spoke about his time while in Vietnam as an infantry Captain in the United States Army and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, the Vietnam Service, and Vietnam Campaign Medals.

The reunion program included a panel discussion featuring three Vietnam Veterans who shared their experiences of coming home after the war.
