Community Stories Festival Closing Night: Silver Spring Films
Docs In Progress is pleased to present a series of screenings,
salons, and workshops to celebrate the power of documentary to reflect
the stories of our local communities in Silver Spring and Takoma Park.
All events are free and open to the public.
Tonight the festival closes at the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center with a showcase of short documentaries produced by adults and youth in Docs In Progress programs.
Films to be featured spotlight local people, places, and events in
and around Silver Spring…including the Silver Spring Library, Fenton
Street Cafe, Shepherd’s Table, Arts clothing artist Sarah Gingold, Arts
on the Block’s ARTpreneurs program at the Fenton Street Market, the
Asian-Latino Pop-Up Museum, Fenwick Beer and Wine, the National Capital
Trolley Museum, and two locally filmed youth-produced music videos.

Following the screenings, there will be a Q&A with the filmmakers and some of the people featured in these documentaries.
