What? Gather your friends, family, and neighbors for a night of amazing music—INSECT MUSIC! Cricket Crawl 2012 is an evening sound census of the late summer crickets and katydids singing throughout the Baltimore/DC metro areas.
Who? You and your family, friends, neighbors, scout troop, faith community…
Where? Your backyard, neighborhood, or local park. Anywhere you are!

How? Plan a cricket outing or party for your friends and neighbors on 8/23. Before the Crawl, visit the website (https://soundcloud.com/cricketcrawl2013/) to see and listen to the songs of the eight target species. Then on the night of the census, listen for those insects in your backyard, neighborhood, or park, and call in your location to computers at the US Geological Survey Patuxent Wildlife Research Center. The data points will be mapped and accessible on-line in real time.
