FINDING YOUR OWN GARDEN STYLE Talk

The Silver Spring Garden Club invites you to a talk on: FINDING YOUR OWN GARDEN STYLE

Most current garden magazines represent just one kind of garden design, but there are many other options. Find out what kind of garden you find most appealing and look at ways you can create your own garden paradise. We will look at symmetry and asymmetry, focal points, edges, plant profusion and our relationship with the sky. Our featured speaker. Elin Haaga, is Welsh but was brought up in the South West of England. She graduated from Oxford University with a history degree and moved to the U.S.  in 1977.  Since then she has lived in Los Angeles, Upstate New York, Nairobi, Kenya, Kuala Lumpur Malaysia, and Dhaka, Bangladesh. After working as a writer for 17 years, she retrained at the University of Maryland and the George Washington University and now has a small garden design firm in Bethesda, and also teaches the history of the landscape in George Washington.
