Meet the Author - Daniel Hernandez

Meet Daniel Hernandez, Jr., the author of They Call Me a Hero.  Mr. Hernandez was an intern in Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords' office and was at the Tucson shopping center when the Representative and others were shot.  Mr. Hernandez's medical knowledge and quick thinking are credited with helping to save Rep. Giffords' life.  Since that time, the author has graduated from college and been involved actively in public service, particularly in education, Hispanic, and LGBT issues.  He will be at the Silver Spring Library (8901 Colesville Road, Silver Spring, MD 20910) on Thursday, February 7, 7 p.m. The program is recommended for adults and teens.  Copies of the book will be available in English and Spanish for purchase and signing after the program.
