The Silver Spring Garden Club hosts a talk on:
Gardening for the Butterfly Life Cycle
Our featured speaker, Kathy Stevens of Brookside Gardens, will talk
about how gardeners can support all stages of the butterfly life cycle
in their gardens and why that is an important thing to do. She will
share specific plants and general planting design ideas as well as
garden maintenance strategies and about specific needs of several
butterfly species.
Kathy Stevens is a Montgomery County native and has been working with
plants for almost 30 years. She has been at Brookside Gardens for almost
20 years and has been a grower in the production greenhouses, a
gardener in the Formal and Fragrance Gardens and since 2004, the
Conservatory manager.
