September 22-28th is National Falls Prevention
Week. The Silver Spring Volunteer Fire Department
Life Safety Unit will present an educational workshop
on home safety for seniors. There will be an
opportunity to schedule home safety evaluations,
smoke detector checks and/or installation, and tips
for making your home safe in order to prevent falls.
We particularly encourage seniors, care givers and adult
children of elderly parents to attend. This event is free and open to the public as part of the Safe Homes Silver Spring Initiative. No registration required.
