School of Rock Silver Springs’ Young Rockers Set to Perform with Special Guest Swift Technique at The Fillmore

Music School Franchise Presents 'WHAT'S HIS NAME IS?!' and 'WHO'S THAT GRRRL?!'

WHO: Since 2006, School Of Rock Silver Spring has inspired students of all ages to rock on stage and in life, always staying true to their motto “Inspiring the World to Rock on Stage and in Life!” As the leader in performance-based music education, School of Rock is an ingenious concept that gets kids and adults rocking out to the classics and on stage performing with their peers. Music programs are designed to create a supportive and motivating environment where music students of all skill levels feel stimulated to excel. Although music instructors in the D.C. Metropolitan Area are plentiful, School of Rock is a completely different concept, as it offers the students the chance to play at live venues on a regular basis, allowing their creativity, excitement and energy to shine on stage.

Joining the students will be Swift Technique, also known as Philadelphia’s Finest Intergalactic Funk Caravan. Since forming in 2007, Swift Technique has toured relentlessly throughout the East Coast, Southern US and Midwest, sharing the stage with legends including The Meters, Wu-Tang Clan, Soulive, Kermit Ruffins, Wale, Questlove of the Roots, Keri Hilson, Big Sam’s Funky Nation, Orgone and Kung Fu. The group has evolved from a live hip-hop group to an old school funk ensemble in the tradition of James Brown, with the innovative dynamics of Led Zeppelin.
