Silver Spring Mini Maker Faire

The first ever Silver Spring Maker Faire is Sunday, September 29th from 12-5 pm at Veterans Plaza in downtown Silver Spring.  The maker movement is a tech-inspired DIY community. 

This “do-it-yourself” fair invites children and adults to participate in Maker projects and demonstrations, including:

  • Make and race your own lunar Rover with NASA scientists
  • Experiment with 3D printers & vinyl cutters
  • Build a giant marble run
  • Use recycled materials to create new toys
  • Experiment with robotics
  • Make your own computer game
 And all of these activities require the kind of creative thinking that STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) learning is built upon.
