What:

KickAss Women's Self-Defense class, led by Coaches Greg and Tori, is a combination of drills and techniques from Gracie Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Thai Kickboxing, that also incorporates strength and conditioning exercises and mental awareness.

We cover verbal defense, mental/emotional defense and of course the physical techniques for self-defense. You'll find that the benefits of self-defense training will benefit you in other areas of life, not just when you are walking through a scary parking garage.

Get ready for a great workout where you'll discover increased confidence, balance, and strength, while learning trustworthy techniques and skills for self-defense!

When:

This is a weekly ongoing class that meets every Saturday 3-4pm with extra time allotted after each class for additional practice and discussion. New members are welcome to join any time! No experience needed!

Instructors:

Greg Bartman has been teaching jiu-jitsu and kickboxing for over 15 years, with an emphasis on clear instruction and a unique understanding of his student's needs. He feels self-defense training should be accessible to anyone and recognizes not only the importance of self-defense for women, but also the unique concerns, experiences and expectations some women may bring with them to class. He works to create an open and supportive environment where any question can be asked and addressed.

Tori Garten has been training with Greg for over 6 years and assists with women's self-defense seminars and the Kid's Jiu-Jitsu and Self-defense class. She is active in the national women's jiu-jitsu community, and feels every woman, regardless of age, strength or athletic ability should have the opportunity to learn to defend herself in a safe and welcoming environment. She understands the fears and concerns many women have and feels addressing those concerns in an open and supportive format lead to greater verbal, mental/emotional and physical self-defense skills for all students. If you are wondering whether or not you can do it - you can! The hardest part is walking through the door.

Both Greg and Tori have a strong interest in the practical application of self-defense, and recognize the positive impact that conquering physical and mental challenges can have on increasing a woman's self-confidence.

KickAss Women's Class focuses on the best elements of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Thai Kickboxing and Self-Defense to get you in great shape, build your confidence and help prepare you physically and mentally for any challenge that comes your way!
