Developed by Chipotle Mexican Grill, the restaurant offers Southeast Asian-inspired flavors from Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam and Singapore in the "quick, convenient, customizable format perfected by Chipotle," the restaurant reported.

Silver Spring's getting "a whole-animal restaurant and meat market" called Urban Butcher, which tentatively is scheduled to open at 8226 Georgia Ave. in early December. "... Urban Butcher will offer a line of house-made charcuterie" from chef Raynold Mendizabal, who says he won't sell anything that isn't made in-house, The Washington Post reported.

Also in Silver Spring, "Kaldi's Coffee [a fairly new eatery at 918 Silver Spring Ave.] owner Tsega Hailemariam says his new caffeine emporium in Silver Spring is the first on the East Coast to employ the Steampunk brewing system," The Washington Postreported.

In Washingtonian's roundup of "10 Delivery and Take-Out Pizzas to Try Now," local favorite Pete's New Haven Style Apizza made the cut in the "delivery" category. Washingtonian's Anna Spiegel recommended the garlicky white clam pizza and the Staven, which features pepperoni, hot sausage, hot peppers, caramelized onion and "a generous scattering of whole roasted garlic cloves."

Pete's has a few locations in DC, including one near Chevy Chase, at 4940 Wisconsin Ave. NW, and a location in Silver Spring—at 962 Wayne Ave.

Dessert:

Candy shop It'Sugar opened in Gaithersburg on Monday,Washingtonian reported. The shop is in the Washingtonian Center, adjacent to Lilly Magilly's Cup CakeryGaithersburg Patch reported.

Helping others:

A new county-wide food-sharing program that started in September is making it a little easier to distribute un-sold/unused food from restaurants and caterers to families in need. But, non-profit organization Nourish Now has been doing this for several years already, CNS TV reported.
