Peri Peri has a special deal for lovers: get a whole flame-grilled chicken, two large sides, a chocolate spoon cake and even a bottle of Cara Viva wine for only $39.95.

McGinty’s Public House

You and your valentine can select your favorites from McGinty’s three-course Valentine’s Day menu on Monday, Feb. 13 or Tuesday, Feb. 14. Pricing is $80 per couple (or $90 with the addition of a bottle of Sycamore chardonnay or cabernet.) Please call 301-587-1270 to make a (suggested) reservation.

Save a Heart during the day and capture one at night at Firestation 1.

From noon to 4 p.m., the Corporate Volunteer Council of Montgomery County is hosting a CPR certification class as a part of their networking and buffet lunch event. Meet new contacts, enjoy lunch and learn CPR for $15 (members) or $25 (non-members).

In the evening, Firestation 1 will offer three fixed-price menu choices, ranging from $25 to $45, including surf and turf, special desserts and much more.

For the traditionalists out there, Hoover Fisher Florists at the corner of University Boulevard and Colesville Road has a wide selection of arrangements, from “Love and Laughter” ($37.95) to “My Perfect Love” for $120. Please note that rose prices may increase during the week leading up to Valentine’s Day.

Available in red, dark pink, white with pink edges, yellow or orange, you can do some good for your relationship and the community with 20 “WholeTrade” roses from Whole Foods Market. You can also choose a combination of roses and chocolates.

This Internet or telephone-based Silver Spring business has some interesting heart-shaped vases among their Valentine’s Day selections. Prices range from $45.00 for the “Pretty Please” bouquet to $260.00 for three dozen long-stemmed roses in a flared glass vase.

Get a treat for your Valentine’s Day dinner and a take home a bonus sweet for you! Purchase any six-inch cake, and get a free red velvet cupcake. This deal is valid only for in-store pick-up at the Ellsworth Drive location on Monday, Feb. 13 and Tuesday, Feb. 14.

Events

Take your younger valentine to a special early show at the Fillmore Silver Spring. At 6:40 p.m., Allstar Weekend, who got their break on Disney Channel’s “Next Big Thing”, will delight fans with their music that has been called a “mix of Blink 182 and the Jonas Brothers.” Tickets are $24.50.

Do something a bit different this year and support the Save a Child's Heart Endowment Fund. For a $50 donation, you can help a child, and get a host of chiropractic services from Dr. Steven Baron, including a case history, exams, X-Rays (if needed), screenings and a report of findings - a value of up to ($450.00).

Downtown Silver Spring Prize Giveaway
