Wheaton Volunteer Fire and Rescue Giving Grill at WFM

Whole Foods Market held a fundraiser grill for the Wheaton Five and Rescue Squad Saturday June 18th!

Saturday lunch June 18, 2011 Whole Foods Market Silver Spring hosted the Wheaton Fire and Rescue Squad for a fundraiser grill. Until 2 p.m., Chef Egg and his healthy assistant chef, brought out hamburgers, hotdogs, the vegan versions of both, and Portobello mushroom caps to grill for a fundraiser campaign on behalf of the Wheaton Fire and Rescue. Whole Foods Market Silver Spring is the closest WFM for the Wheaton squad and a welcome grill event to all of us in downtown Silver Spring.

The grill also added chips, cole slaw (a Thai spicy version that was just fabulous) and 2 versions of potato salad, along with beverages. All proceeds went to the Squad which does supplement the Squad here in occasions of emergency. What a welcome thank you to the fire and rescue people we have there to help us in time of need, and a healthy and inexpensive treat and contribution to the community. Thaks go to both Whole Foods Market for aiding in this benefit and to the actual firefighters who are there for us!
