Maryland Federation of Republican Women Leadership Training Conference held Saturday Jan 25th in Bowie

Leadership training conducted Saturday Jan 25th in Bowie drew participants from all sectors of Maryland, representing all 6 political regions and 16 of the 23 counties including Baltimore City.

Sponsored by the Maryland Federation of Republican Women, the conference provided tips on public speaking and problem solving in addition to the expected mini-speeches of upcoming candidates for election in Maryland.  Nicolee Ambrose, Maryland's National Republican Committeewoman spoke of the grassroots activities at the county level as well as the direction expected to be taken by the RNC for 2014.  The highlight of the day though was high school junior Jeremiah Hughes who spoke of forming a in-school club for what may not be expected in high schools these days, that is, one for budding conservatives. The conference was a focus for the Republican Women's Clubs in the state; the newest club formed, in Prince George's County, sent their leadership team, which included Janice Fountaine running for the Maryland State Senate in Legislative District 22.  Montgomery County not widely known as a Republican stronghold is the singular county making up one political region (most counties are grouped 2 or 3 into a region) and was well represented by its Silver Spring members. It should be a surprise for any candidate assuming otherwise!
