Dogs Set to Come Out and Play on 'Dogs Day' in Downtown

Downtown Silver Spring is set to hosts its 4th Annual Dog Days presented by Living Ruff.

On Saturday, Oct. 1, Silver Spring is going to the dogs with the 4th Annual Dog Days of downtown Silver Spring presented by Living Ruff and Peterson Companies. The event, which runs from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Plaza on Ellsworth Drive, welcomes locals and their dogs (friendly four-legged pals only).

Living Ruff’s website boasts Dog Days at the region’s largest free celebration of this kind. Local rescue groups and shelters will be in attendance along with their adoptable dogs for those looking for a new addition to the family.

There will also be booths featuring pet nutrition, local services, information on responsible pet ownership and more. Forty Washington, DC area organizations and businesses including The Dog Stay, Fido Journalism and Doggie Washerette  will also be present. Here’s the complete list of 2011 participants.
