Here are five things to know as you start your day.

Happy Thursday, Silver Spring! We're almost through another week. Here are five things to know today, to help you keep up-to-date about what’s going on in the community:

1. Be sure to carry an umbrella and rain boots because heavy rains are in the forecast, according to the National Weather Service. Temperatures are expected to reach a high near 65. Into the evening, showers are expected to continue along with cloudy skies and temperatures in the mid 30s.

2. If you missed it, 'zombies' took over downtown Silver Spring. People hid their brains from deadly brides to pugs.
