Whether you’re looking to reconnect with nature, sharpen your ice skating skills or spend time with your family at a Nature Center campfire or hike, you’re likely to find something that’s just right from our winter line-up. And to entice you even further, we are giving away a $100 Parks Gift Card (that can be used towards classes, programs and special events) in our “Come Play in the Parks” Facebook Sweepstakes. Here are just a few examples of what the $100 can be used towards:
- Children’s Programs: Nature storytimes and classes, tyke hikes, scavenger hunts, nature-themed crafts, campfires and more
- Adult Programs:
- Cooking classes on “Season-Spanning Soups,” and “Seasonal Sides”(featuring vegetarian, vegan and dairy-free recipes)
- Botanical fine arts and crafts classes, including “Calligraphy for Botanicals,” “Shading Basics,” and “Holiday Centerpiece”
- Nature courses including: “Winter Birding at Black Hill,” “Trees in Winter,” and Wild Montgomery programs such as hikes on the C&O Canal towpath and the Seneca Creek Greenway trail.
All winter programs, classes and special events are listed in the Winter 2013- 14 Montgomery County Recreation and Park Program Guide. The Guide is available online at www.MontgomeryParks.org/Guide. Print copies are available free of charge at select Montgomery Parks facilities, Montgomery County Recreation centers, government buildings and libraries while supplies last.
