Sixth Annual Grunig Lecture at the University of Maryland

The sixth annual Grunig Lecture at the University of Maryland was a HUGE success on Oct.30 with a record breaking number of attendees— more than 250 University of Maryland students and Washington D.C. specialized area professionals from organizations including the Dept. of Treasury, FleishmanHillard, Edelman, Spectrum, and more.  Students and professionals gathered around 17 roundtables where professionals from the above organizations spoke on specialized topics, some roundtables even had people standing around them to hear that prospective professional speak.

The keynote speaker Dave Senay, president and CEO of Fleishman Hillard, gave an impactful speech on "Ethics as Culture," which left a memorable impression on the audience.  Senay encouraged the audience to utilize Twitter to continue the conversation and "get this thing trending."

This is the first time that 10 University of Maryland students planned and executed the Grunig Lecture and they have set the precedent for students who will take the reigns on the event in future years.
