Apartment Fire Displaces Three Silver Spring Families

The fire caused an estimated $60,000 worth of damage to the building, a fire official said.

 

Three Silver Spring families were displaced after their apartments caught fire Wednesday night, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesman said.

About 50 firefighters were dispatched to the Rolling Wood Apartments in the 2400 block of Ross Road to distinguish the fire, said Capt. Oscar Garcia.

Garcia said the cause of the fire was under investigation but it was considered accidental.

The displaced families are currently working with the management officials of Rolling Wood Apartments to find vacant apartments. In the meantime, the families are staying with relatives, Garcia said.

No injuries were reported.
