Armed Robbery, Kidnapping Suspects Arrested

Fist victim robbed in his hotel room, second victim driven to bank to obtain more cash, according to Montgomery County Police.

Four suspects in a June 26 armed robbery and kidnapping in Silver Spring have been apprehended, according to Montgomery County Police. A fifth suspect is still unknown, the department said in a release Thursday.

The suspects are: Steven Allen Graham, 42, of the 800 block of Darien Place in Upper Marlboro; Vusumuzi Mchunu, 39, of the 14700 block of 4th Street in Laurel; Anthony Allen Graham, 46, of the 1100 block of F Street in Washington, D.C.; and Nikita Kenyatta Corey, 38, of the 12000 block of Brichview Drive in Clinton.

All four were charged with two counts of armed robbery, robbery, first-degree assault, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and false imprisonment. They were also charged with one count each of first-degree burglary, theft of $1,000 to under $10,000 and theft of $10,000 to under $100,000.

At 11:04 a.m. June 26, officers responded to the Courtyard Marriott at 12521 Prosperity Drive and the Bank of America at 11499 Columbia Pike regarding a robbery.

The investigation revealed that Mchunu believed the first victim owed him money and that he followed the victim from Maryland Live Casino to the Marriott hotel. Two of the suspects followed the victim and identified his hotel room. Later, the group, along with an unknown fifth suspect, entered the room and demanded payment.

The fifth suspect allegedly pointed a gun at the victim and then fled the room with no further involvement, according to police.

Mchunu allegedly obtained $6,500 from the victim's vehicle. When more cash was demanded, the victim contacted a friend, who was driven by Corey, Mchunu and Steven Graham to the bank. 

The second victim passed a note to the teller asking that she call police. The suspects became suspicious and fled, while also contacting Anthony Graham at the hotel and instructing him to flee. All four suspects where apprehended between June 7 and June 10. 

Steven Graham is being held on a no-bond status. Anthony Graham and Nikita Corey are held on $250,000 bonds. Vusumuzi Mchunu paid his $10,000 bond and was released, according to police.
