Basement Fire Injures Two Police Officers

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Two Montgomery County police officers were injured Sunday in a basement fire and immediately transported to local hospitals for non life-threatening injuries, said Montgomery County Fire and Rescue (MCFR) Assistant Chief Scott Graham.

Around 8 p.m., firefighters were called to the scene of a basement fire on the 1600 block of Parham Road near Four Corners, said Graham.

The fire was confined to one room and didn't violently spread throughout the house, but " there is smoke and water damage," he added.
