Burglar Breaks Into Obesity Society in Silver Spring

Police are asking for help to identify the man in this surveillance photo.

Montgomery County police have released a surveillance photo from a burglary that took place in Silver Spring on June 20. 

The burglar entered the building at 8757 Colesville Road that Thursday morning and forced his way into the Obesity Society office suite, police said. He then took cash from the office before fleeing the building, police said. 

Surveillance cameras caught him on video at approximately 9 a.m. Police described the suspect as a black male, 28 to 35 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a heavy build and black, medium-length hair.  

The suspect was wearing a white T-shirt, blue jeans, and Nike high-top sneakers. The sneakers were white and aqua blue with orange trim.

Detectives are asking anyone who may recognize this suspect to contact the 3rd District Investigative Section at 301-565-5835.
