Silver Spring Crime: 3 Businesses Burglarized

Keep tabs on the crime in the neighborhood of downtown Silver Spring and the surrounding area. During the week of March 19 to March 27, Montgomery County Police had their hands full with robberies, residential burglaries and more.

COMMERCIAL BURGLARIES:

Taco Bell located on 7720 Blair Mill Rd.: A commercial robbery occurred in the front parking lot of the store on Thursday, March 22 at 9:16 a.m. The suspect displayed a weapon and obtained property.

The American Cancer Society located at 801 Roeder Rd.: A commercial burglary between 5 p.m. on Monday, March 26 and 8:02 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27. There was an unknown entry and property was taken.

G&G Auto Service located at 9501 Georgia Ave.: A commercial burglary occurred at, Silver Spring on Monday, March 26 between 3:45 a.m. and 5:18 a.m. Forced entry; property taken.

ROBBERIES:

8400 block of Colesville Road: A robbery occurred on Saturday, March 24 at 1:13 a.m. 

Wayne Avenue and Ellsworth Drive: A robbery occurred in an alley in the area on Saturday, March 24 at 12:01 a.m. Suspects displayed a weapon and obtained property. 

Wayne Avenue and Colesville Road: A robbery occurred in this area on Friday, March 23 at 9:35 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property. 

8300 block of Barron Street: A robbery occurred on Friday, March 23 at 4:15 a.m. The suspect approached the victim, displayed a weapon and obtained property.

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES:

500 block of Thayer Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, March 21 between 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m. There was an unknown entry and property was taken.

AGGRAVATED ASSAULT:

900 block of Ellsworth Drive: An aggravated assault occurred on Friday, March 23 at 5 p.m. The victim was assaulted by the suspects. Montgomery County Police arrested a 25-year-old man from North Carolina and a 23-year-old man from Montgomery Village.
