Armed Robberies and Burglaries Reported In Silver Spring

Armed robberies and burglaries were the most common type of crime reported during the final week of January.

From Jan. 23 to Jan. 31, Montgomery County Police reported the following crimes:

Armed Robbery:

8600 block of Fenton Street: On Sunday, Jan. 29 at 7:59 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim with a weapon and obtained property. Two Washington, DC juveniles were arrested.

900 block of Thayer Avenue: An attempted armed robbery occurred on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 11:32 p.m. The suspects assaulted one of the victims.

1700 block of Lansdowne Way: On Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3:18 a.m.  The suspect assaulted the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

500 block of Domer Avenue: On Sunday, Jan. 29 at 7:25 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property. 

Robbery:

100 block of Schuyler Road: on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 12:30 a.m. No additional details were provided.

100 block of Croydon Court: On Monday, Jan. 30 at 7 p.m.  The suspect is known to the victim.  A 16-year-old young man was arrested.

Northampton Dr & Beacon Road: A robbery/assault occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 4:46 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and removed property.

Residential burglary:

2400 block of Darrow Street: On Saturday, Jan. 28 at 3:50 a.m. There was an unforced entry and it unknown whether anything was taken.

2400 block of Dexter Avenue: There was an attempted residential burglary on Thursday, Jan. 26 at 9:38 a.m.  There was an attempted forced entry, but nothing was taken.

9800 block of Dilston Road: On Wednesday, Jan. 25 at 8:31 a.m. There wasn’t a forced entry. Three Silver Spring teens between the ages of 16 and 17 were arrested.

10700 block of Venetia Mill Circle: On Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 10:50 a.m. No additional details were provided.

Commercial burglary:

The Eggspectation Restaurant located on 923 Ellsworth Drive: On Friday, Jan. 27 at 2:14 a.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.  

Foster Produce Sales located on 10000 Colesville Road: Between 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 24 and 8:10 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 25. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

Assault:

8700 block of Colesville Road: An aggravated assault occurred on Tuesday, Jan. 31 at 6:40 p.m.  No additional details were provided.

1500 block of Flora Lane: A sexual assault occurred on Thursday, Jan. 26 between 3 a.m. and 3 a.m. The suspect is known to the victim.
