Has this been an issue in your neighborhood?

Michigan Avenue, Pennsylvania Avenue, Talbot Avenue, alot of gang activity and other criminal crimes. Neighbors are afraid to live their day to day lives.

ZJ, what types of gang activity are they being exposed to?

Seriously...? You're talking about up towards Forest Glen? All I see are two top tier elementary schools, two parks, a bunch of decently pricey single family homes, and almost zero crime reports from the last 90 days. Statistics are showing it's one of the safest neighborhoods in the region, even compared to uber-safe places like Bethesda and Chevy Chase. What have you been seeing? Are you talking about some area of DC I'm unfamiliar with?

El Salvadorian Gangs, the parents use the kids to run drugs. Police have been called because the children play all over the street, neighbors have been threatened to be killed, property has been stolen from yards, including mine, property has been vandalised. It is a problem that has been pointed out to County Council and the police departments.

Oh, okay. ZJ, MoCo police also track "Quality of Life" infractions such as drug confiscation. There have been exactly zero incidents in the past 6 months in that neighborhood (an impressive feat), which is as far back as I can search. There was a theft on 3/29/12 on Michigan...that's the most recent incident of anything happening in the area. Hopefully whatever issues you're referring to have been resolved. Minus kids playing in the street. I'm pretty sure that'll always happen. Cheers.

Okay Jag, If you actually lived in our community you would know that there has been a shooting on the talbot bridge and the suspect was found living on Michigan Avenue, there was also armed Marshalls in the neighborhood about three months ago looking for someone who had stabbed someone at th 7eleven on 16th street, there have numerous petty thefts in the area such as construction materials, chairs off the lawn and bicylcles. I agree kids playing in the street is minor, however there are other factors that even our neighborhood asscociation can not cover. The county has been out to have code violations corrected, I could go on and on, but since I don't know who you are, I won't say anymore. Just pray for our community.

You're right, I don't live in Lyttonsville. Frankly, I've never lived anywhere near as safe and sleepy as Lyttonsville, though I did strongly consider an investment property over there about a year back. Best to you!
