Residential Burglaries and Robberies Reported In Silver Spring

A look at the crime reported in Silver Spring Feb. 6 to Feb. 14, 2012

Robberies and residential burglaries were the most common type of crime reported between Feb. 6 to Feb. 14, 2012.

Montgomery County Police reported the following crimes:

ROBBERIES:

900 Ellsworth Drive: A robbery occurred in the parking garage on Friday, Feb. 10 at 1:15 a.m. The suspect threatened the victims with a weapon and obtained property.

CVS located at 825 Wayne Ave.: A commercial robbery occurred on Sunday, Feb. 12 at 8:15 a.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and removed property.

9000 block of Manchester Road: A robbery/carjacking on Wednesday Feb. 8 at 5:55 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim and obtained her vehicle.

8900 block of Piney Branch Road: A strong-arm robbery occurred on Saturday, Feb. 11. The adult male victim advised that the suspects approached him, knocked him down and removed his cell phone and iPod before fleeing on foot.

200 block of Hannes Street: An attempted strong-arm robbery on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5:30 p.m. The suspects forcefully attempted to remove property from the victim.  

McDonald’s located at106 University Boulevard West: A robbery occurred in the parking lot on Thursday, Feb. 9 at 5 p.m. The suspect threatened the victim with a weapon and obtained property.

 

RESIDENTIAL BURGLARIES:

700 block of Sligo Avenue: A residential burglary occurred at 1:19 p.m. on Thursday, Fec. 9. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
 

8200 block of Nolte Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Feb. 6 between 9 a.m. and 3:15. p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken. 

Sligo Baptist Church located at 1610 Dennis Avenue: A commercial burglary occurred at between 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 7 and 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 8.

8200 block of Fenton Street: A burglary occurred on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 6:23 a.m.  No further details were available.
