Montgomery County police say an 18-year-old male wielding a sawed-off shotgun robbed multiple guests late Friday at Silver Spring's Homewood Suites Hotel.
Jackson Julius, of the 3600 block of Bel Pre Road, was charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and other related firearm offenses, police said.
At approximately 11:21 p.m. on Jan. 25, police responded to the hotel, located at 8728 Colesville Road, for the armed robbery of multiple guests in a single hotel room. Police said one victim had rented a room at the hotel and notified friends via text message that she was hosting a party in a specific room.
After multiple guests had arrived, the victim heard a knock on the door and observed a male to the side of the door, and let him in the room, thinking he was another guest.
Once inside, the man produced the shotgun and announced the robbery, taking cash, personal items, phones and other electronics from eight victims before fleeing the scene.
Police said they found the suspect on board a Ride On bus, and a search of a bag that was on the seat next to him revealed the shotgun and property belonging to the victims.
Julius is currently being held on $150,000 bond and is scheduled for a bond review at 1 p.m. on Jan. 28 in Rockville.
