Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Nov. 22 to Nov. 30

Residential burglaries and robberies were a major part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area, armed robberies, commercial and residential burglaries and vehicle vandalism dominate the report. The crime report for the week of Nov. 22-Nov. 30 is as follows: 

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map. 
  • Multiple thefts from vehicles occurred this week in the targeted areas of Wayne Avenue, East West Highway, Bonifant Street, Cameron Street, Sligo Avenue and Fenton Street, all in downtown Silver Spring. Thirteen vehicles were broken into, including nine at county/commercial parking garages. Eleven of these incidents occurred between the early morning and early evening hours. The suspect broke windows in 11 of the incidents and stole GPS systems, computers and clothing.
