Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes in Week of Oct. 11 to Oct. 19

Business and residential burglaries along with robberies were a major part of police duty.

This week in the Montgomery County Police major crimes for the week summary in Silver Spring, commercial burglaries along with residential and robberies dominate the report. Crimes report for the week of Oct. 11 - Oct. 19 are as follows: 

  • In Downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map. 
  • A robbery occurred in the 1300 block of Oakleaf Drive, on Sunday, Oct.17. The suspects approached the adult male victim, who was standing at a bus stop. They pressed an unknown object against his back and ordered him to walk forward. One suspect took personal property. The suspects are two Hispanic males between the ages of 20-29.
  • A commercial robbery occurred at The M&T Bank, 11161 New Hampshire Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 14. The suspect approached the teller, displayed a gun and demanded cash.   
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 15300 block of Peach Orchard Road between Tuesday, Oct. 12  and Wednesday, Oct. 13. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 13700 block of Old Columbia Pikeon Thursday, Oct. 14 and Friday, Oct. 15. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • An attempted residential burglary occurred in the 13900 block of Pond View Road on Sunday, Oct. 17. There was an attempted forced entry and entry was not gained.
  • A residential burglary occurred in the 2500 block of Briggs Chaney Road on Sunday, Oct. 17. There was a forced entry and nothing was taken.
