Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of April 25 to May 3

Robberies and residential burglaries were a major part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area robberies and residential burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of April 25 to May 3 is as follows: 

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map. Scroll your mouse over the bubble to read the crime.
  • 900 Ellsworth Drive: A strong-arm robbery occurred in this block on Thursday, April 28 at 11:33 p.m. The suspects threatened the victim and obtained property.
  • Bonifant Street and Dixon Avenue: An attempted robbery occurred in this block on Sunday, May 1 at 3:30 p.m. at a Metro Bus Shelter. An adult male was approached by a suspect who threatened him and attempted to obtain property. Nothing was taken.
  • 500 Thayer Avenue: An aggravated assault occurred in a Ride On bus on Monday, May 2 at 12:43 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and was arrested.
  • 9300 Weaver Street: On Wednesday, a residential burglary occurred on April 27 at 11:41 p.m. in this block.  There wasn’t a forced entry and nothing taken. 
  • 500 Deerfield Road: On Friday, a residential burglary occurred on April 29 between 7:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. There wasn’t a forced entry and property taken.
  • 400 East Indian Spring Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and 1:23 p.m. on Thursday April 28. There wasn’t a forced entry and property taken.
  • 1800 Forest Glen Road: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, May 2 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. There was a forced entry and property taken.
  • 400 Indian Spring Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and 5:15 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 in. There was an unforced entry and property taken.
  • 2100 Forest Glen Road: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, April 25 between 9:15 a.m. and 10:40 p.m. in the. There was an attempted forced entry and nothing was taken. 
  • 8900 Second Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, May 2 between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken. 
  • 8500 Flower Avenue: A robberyoccurred in this block on Thursday, April 28 at 1:28 p.m. Three suspects obtained property from the victims. 
  • Piney Branch Road and Carroll Avenue: An attempted robbery/assault occurred in this area on Saturday, April 30 at 11:10 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to obtain property.
  • 8600 Piney Branch Road: An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in this block on Saturday, April 30 at 12:02 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and attempted to obtain property. Arrests were made.
  • 800 Patton Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 27 and 7:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 28. There was an unknown entry and property taken. 
  • Montgomery Knolls Elementary School located at 807 Daleview Drive:  A commercial burglary occurred on Monday, May 2 at midnight. There was no forced entry and it was unknown what was taken. Arrests were made.
