Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of April 4 to April 12

Residential and commercial burglaries were a major part of police duty in downtown Silver Spring.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area, residential burglaries and commercial burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of April 4 to April 12 is as follows: 

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map.
  • 7980 Georgia Avenue: A carjacking/assault occurred at the 7-11 on this block Saturday, April 9 at 6:45 a.m. The masked suspects approached the victim, who was pumping gas, and struck him with a gun and demanded his keys. The victim complied and the suspects fled in the victim’s vehicle.
  • 1280 East West Highway: A carjacking/assault occurred on Monday, April 11 at 11:45 a.m. in the lot of the Giant. An adult male was approached by a suspect as he attempted to enter his vehicle, knocked to the ground and his keys were snatched. The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle.
  • 8040 13th Street: An aggravated assault occurred at the Days Inn, 8040 13th Street, Silver Spring on Wednesday April 6 at 8:33 p.m.  The adult male victim was assaulted by an unknown suspect.
  • 8407 Ramsey Avenue: A commercial burglary occurred at at the Kitchen Bar restaurant between 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 10 and 8:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11 . There was a forced entry and was property taken.
  • 1400 Spring Street: A commercial burglary occurred at t Lado International College between 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8 and 8:05 a.m. on Saturday, April 9. There was an unknown means of entry and property taken.
  • 8605 Cameron Street: A commercial burglary occurred between 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 8 and 9:30 a.m. on Monday, April 11 at the American Registry of Pathology. The entry was unknown and property was taken
  • 500 Thayer Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday April 6 at 12:45 p.m. There was an unknown means of entry and property was taken.
  • 800 Easley Street: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Wednesday, April 6 between 9:00 a.m. and 7:30 p.m. this block. There was no forced entry and property taken.
  • 8000 13th Street:A residential burglary occurred on Monday, April 11 between 6:15 a.m. and 5:17 p.m. in the Silver Spring. There was an unknown entry and property was taken.
  • 8500 Georgia Avenue: A sexual offense occurred in this parking lot on Friday, April 8 at 9:09 p.m. An adult male was arrested by patrol after he was observed by citizens exposing himself. Eulet Gore, age 34, from the 8700 block of 1st Ave was arrested.
