Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of June 6 to June 13

Residential burglaries, a rape and robbery/assault were a part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area robberies and residential burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of June 6 to June 13  is as follows: 

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map. Scroll your mouse over the bubble to read the crime.
  • 700 Lowander Lane: An attempted residential burglary occurred in this block between 6:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10 and 9:15 a.m. on Monday, June 13. There was an attempted forced entry but no property was taken.
  • 700 Richmond Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, June 13 between noon and 5:00 p.m. There was a forced entry and property taken.  
  • 1500 Ballard Street: An attempted residential burglary occurred between 10:30 p.m. on Friday, June 10 and 8:50 p.m. on Monday, June 13 in this block. There was an attempted forced entry but no property was taken.
  • 8600 Manchester Road: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, June 14 between 1:00 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. in this block. There was an unforced entry and no property taken.
  • Piney Branch Road and University Boulevard: A rape occurred in this area on Saturday, June 11 at 1:00 a.m.   
  • 9300 Piney Branch Road: A robbery/assault occurred in this block on Saturday, June 11 at 11:07 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and took their property.
