Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of May 2 to May 11

Residential burglaries were the major part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police weekly summary of major crimes this week for the down Silver Spring area, residential burglaries dominate. One commercial burglary and one robbery were also reported.  The crime report for the week of May 2 to May 11 is as follows: 

  • 8200 Colonial Lane: A robbery occurred in this block on Thursday, May 5 at 6:45 a.m. The suspect assaulted the victim and took property.
  • 5400 Queen Anne Drive:  A residential burglary occurred in this block on Wednesday, May 4, between 11:00 a.m. and 10:30p.m.  Entry not forced but property was taken.
  • 700 Easley Street: A residential burglary occurred in the block on Friday, May 6 between 1:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. Entry was forced and property was taken.        
  • 1200 Noyes Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 8:00 a.m. Saturday, April 30 and 4:39 p.m. Saturday, May 7.  Entry was forced but nothing taken.
  • 8900 Second Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, May 2, between 8:00 a.m. and 11:00 p.m.  Entry was forced entry and property taken.
  • 1800 Forest Glen Road: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, May 2 between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.  Entry was forced entry and property taken.
  • 8900 Ellsworth Court: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Wednesday, May 4, at 5:07 a.m. Unknown entry, nothing taken.
  • 600 block of Pershing Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Friday, May 6, between 4:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. Entry was forced entry and property taken.
  • 1700 block of Highland Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Friday, May 6, between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. Entry was forced but nothing taken.
  • 300 Hillmoor Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 6 and 5:44 p.m. Sunday, May 8.  Entry was not forced but property was taken.
  • 9800 Hastings Drive: A commercial burglary occurred at the YMCA,  on Friday May 6 between 1:00 a.m. and 4:10 a.m.  Entry was forced and property taken.
