Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of May 30 to June 7

Residential, commercial burglaries and robberies were a major part of police duty.

In the Montgomery County Police major crimes weekly summary for the downtown Silver Spring area robberies and residential burglaries dominate the report. The crime report for the week of May 30 to June 7 is as follows: 

  • In downtown Silver Spring the crime activity varied in the Patch crime summaries map. Scroll your mouse over the bubble to read the crime.
  • 800 Ellsworth Drive: A strong-arm robbery/assault occurred in this block on Friday, June 3, at 9:26 p.m. The suspects assaulted the victim and obtained property.
  • 500 Thayer Ave: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Wednesday, June 1 between 1:30 a.m. and 10 a.m. There was a forced entry and property taken.
  • Manny’s Auto Repair located on 919 Gist Avenue: A commercial burglary/vehicle theft occurred at this auto repair shop by a known suspect on Friday, June 3 at approximately 12:00 a.m. There was a forced entry and a vehicle taken.  
  • East Indian Springs Drive and Flower Avenue: An attempted robbery/aggravated assault occurred in this area on Tuesday, June 7, at 1:30 a.m. The suspects assaulted the victims.
  • 9900 Rogart Road: A residential burglary occurred in this area between 10:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 2. There was a forced entry and property taken. Suspected vehicle: 2006 Volvo XC90, Black MD tags.
  • 9600 Evergreen Street: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Monday, May 30 between 3 p.m. and 10:44 p.m. There was an unforced entry but property taken.
  • 9800 Georgia Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Tuesday, May 31 between 7:45  a.m. and 9 p.m. There was a forced entry and property taken.
  • 8500 Springvale Road: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Tuesday, May 31 between 4:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. There was an unforced entry but property taken.
  • 8400 Manchester Road: A residential burglary occurred in this area on Monday, June 1 between noon and 5 p.m. The entry was unknown but property was taken.
  • 800 Heron Drive: An attempted residential burglary occurred on this block between 11 p.m. on Saturday, June 4, and 9:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. There was an attempted forced entry and nothing taken.
