Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Nov. 28 and Dec. 7

Residential burglaries were most reported.

Residential and commercial burglaries dominate the Montgomery County Police weekly major crimes summary for the Silver Spring area. Crimes reported for the week of Nov. 28 to Dec. 7 are as follows:

The Winning Place, 7900 Georgia Ave.: A robbery occurred on Wednesday, Nov. 30 at 9 a.m. The suspects displayed a weapon and obtained property.

Georgia Avenue and Eastern Avenue: an aggravated assault occurred in this area on Monday, Dec. 5 at 11:04 p.m. A man was assaulted with a weapon by the suspect who then fled.

Three residential burglaries that may be related occurred in this Silver Spring beat:

  • 2500 Forest Glen Road: On Tuesday, Dec. 6 between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • 1500 Sharon Drive: On Monday, Dec. 5 between 7:20 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • 10200 Brunswick Avenue: On Saturday Dec. 3, between 2:50 p.m. and 11 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

Park Sutton Condominiums, 1900 Lyttonsville Rd.: A commercial burglary occurred inside the garage on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 1:40 a.m. There was a forced entry. Two men were arrested.

400 E. Franklin Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block between 6 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 1 and 8 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 2. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

500 E. Indian Springs Drive: A residential burglary occurred in this area on Tuesday, Nov. 29 between 5 p.m. and 5:58 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was  taken.
