Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Oct. 10 to Oct. 18

Robberies and numerous burglaries were reported.

Robberies dominate the Montgomery County Police weekly major crimes summary for the Silver Spring area. Crimes reported for the week of Oct. 10 to Oct. 18 are as follows:

  • Violet Place and Chicago Avenue: An armed robbery occurred on Monday, Oct. 17, at 1:45 a.m. The suspects assaulted a victim and took some of their property.
  • 8000 13th Street: A residential burglary occurred in this area between 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15, and 8:50 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 17. There was a forced entry and property was taken.
  • 8000 Georgia Avenue and 8100 Fenton Street: Multiple commercial burglaries occurred in these blocks between 1:30 a.m. and 4 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 13. There were forced entries, but no property taken.
  • Wayne Avenue and Mansfield Road: An armed robbery/assault occurred on Monday, Oct. 17, at 4:51 a.m. The Suspects assaulted the victim and took their property.
  • Georgia Avenue and Seminary Road: An attempted strong-arm robbery occurred in this area on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 3:30 p.m. A suspect assaulted a victim, but no property was taken.
  • Georgia Avenue and Dexter Avenue: A strong-arm robbery occurred in this area of Forest Glen on Tuesday, Oct. 11, at 6:35 p.m. Property was taken.
  • 100 Schuyler Road: A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Oct. 15, between 7:30 p.m. and 10 p.m. in this area. There was an unforced entry and property was taken.
  • 800 University Boulevard East: An armed robbery occurred in this area of Silver Spring on Friday, Oct. 14, at 11:09 p.m. Property was taken.
  • 200 University Boulevard East: A residential burglary occurred on Saturday, Oct. 15, between 3 p.m. and 10 p.m. in Silver Spring. There was an unforced entry along with property and cash was removed.
