Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes the Week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 20

In this week's crime summary, residential burglaries kept Montgomery County Police officers busy.

This week in the Montgomery County Police major crimes for the week summary in Silver Spring, residential burglaries dominate the report. Crimes reported for the week of Sept. 12 to Sept. 20 near the downtown area are as follows:

  • 500 block of Thayer Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, Sept. 15, between 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.  
  • 600 block of University Boulevard East: An assault/robbery occurred on Thursday, Sept. 15, at 2:45 a.m. An adult male advised that he was assaulted and property was taken from him by two unknown suspects.

  • 8700 block of Carroll Avenue: A residential burglary occurred in this block on Saturday, Sept. 17, between 4:15 p.m. and 4:40 p.m. There was an unknown entry and property was taken.
