Police Blotter: Summary of Crimes Week of Dec. 19 - Dec. 27

Residential burglaries dominate the Montgomery County Police weekly major crimes summary for the Silver Spring area. Crimes reported for the week of Dec. 19 to Dec. 27 are as follows:

1300 block of East West Highway: A robbery occurred on Sunday, Dec. 25 at 6:40 p.m. The victim was assaulted and property was removed.

Unit block of Hilltop Road: An aggravated assault occurred in the  in Silver Spring on Wednesday, Dec. 21 at 8:41 p.m. The suspect is known to the victim.

Rite Aid located on 1411 East West Hwy.: An aggravated assault occurred on Thursday, Dec. 22 at 12:54 p.m. The victim was assaulted by the suspect.

500 block of Thayer Ave.: A residential burglary occurred between 4:15 p.m. Sunday, 12/25 and 12:45 a.m. Monday 12/26 in the  in Silver Spring. There was an unknown entry and property was taken.

8000 block of 13th Street: A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, Dec. 22, between 7 a.m. - 8 p.m. There was a forced entry and it was unknown what was taken.

8000 block of 13th Street: A residential burglary occurred on Thursday, Dec. 22, between 2 p.m. - 5 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

1500 block of East West Hwy.: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Dec. 19, between 8:30 a.m. - 3:55 p.m. There wasn't a forced entry, but property was taken.

Thirteen thefts from vehicles occurred between Dec. 22 – Dec. 25. There were forced entries in seven of the incidents. Some items stolen included: computers, cash, and prescription medication. Parking lots at Cameron, Wayne Avenue, East West Highway and Fidler Lane in Silver Spring were targeted.

2400 block of Eccleston Street: A residential burglary occurred on Monday, Dec. 26 at 7:47 p.m.

2400 block of Darrow Street: A residential burglary occurred between noon Saturday, Dec. 24 and 1:40 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

9000 block of Colesville Road: A residential burglary occurred on Wednesday, Dec. 21 between 9:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

2700 block of Finch Street: A residential burglary occurred between 7 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 21 and 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 25. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

9600 block of Lorain Avenue: A residential burglary occurred on Tuesday, Dec. 20, between 7:30 a.m. – 6:45 p.m. There was a forced entry and property was taken.

9300 block of Piney Branch Road: An aggravated assault occurredon Saturday, Dec. 24 at 4:23. The suspect is known to the victim.
