D.C. resident Ukeme Albert was sitting on a bench outside of the Silver Spring Civic Center when he witnessed two young men fighting near the intersection of Ellsworth Drive and Fenton Street.

Albert added that he thought they were going to be hit by a car when they rolled into the street fighting and then he heard a loud pop sound.

"I heard something that sounded like a gunshot," he added.

Montgomery County Police officials surrounded the Silver Spring Civic Center and held two young men for questioning. Sergeant Sullivan was one of the officials on the scene and said he wasn't sure what happened, but they were working to investigate to confirm if a crime was committed.

"We know that a fight started and a gunshot may have been fired, but we're not completely sure at this time," Sullivan said.
