Police Report Woman Possibly Hit by Marc Train

A woman was injured Sunday after an accident at the Marc train station in Silver Spring that is currently under investigation, Montgomery County Police said.

It is unclear how the woman was injured or whether she fell off the train platform, but police were called to the scene around 10:54 p.m. and couldn't locate the woman until about 30 minutes later, Rebecca Innocenti of the Montgomery County Police said.

"People were concerned," Innocenti said.

The dispatcher received another call from people who saw the woman bleeding and walking on the 8400 block of Colesville Road near the .

The unidentified woman was sent to a local hospital, Innocenti said.

Police officials said they believe she was injured by the train, but they are unsure as to what exactly happened.

"Exactly what occurred during the incident is still under investigation," Innocenti said.

A woman left the Marc train platform at the Silver Spring metro station Sunday evening and the conductor was able to stop the train and call police, said Montgomery County Police Spokeswoman Rebecca Innocenti. 

Police officials were sent to the station around 10:54 p.m. to assist on the scene and couldn't locate the woman until about 30 minutes later.

Police officials "believe" she was injured by the train, but they are unsure as to what exactly happened.

"Exactly want occurred during the incident is still under investigation," Innocenti said.
