Police Want Help Indentifying Silver Spring Robbery Suspects

The victims reported being robbed and assaulted by three men, according to Montgomery County Police.

Montgomery County Police released surveillance photos on Monday of men in connection with back-to-back robberies that occurred in January in downtown Silver Spring, and are asking for the public's help in identifying the persons. 

A 31-year-old man told police that he was robbed at the corner of Colesville Road and East-West Highway on Jan. 16 around 9:44 p.m. He said he was walking on Colesville when he was grabbed from behind and pulled to the ground, according to police. Two other suspects searched his body and stole property, details about which police aren't revealing. The three men were seen running toward a parking garage on Colesville, police said.

A few hours later, officers responded to the same area with the report of a robbery that occured around 1:46 a.m. on Jan. 17. Two male victims, both 25, told police that one suspect grabbed th first victim's cell phone and punched him in the face. The second victim tried to help his friend, police said, and was also punched in the face. The victims told police that three suspects ran away after the robbery.
