Silver Spring Metro Bus Accident Injures Two

The accident blocked morning rush-hour traffic headed northbound on Colesville Road, police said.

A Metro bus and truck collided on Colesville Road and Franklin Avenue Wednesday morning injuring two people during morning rush hour in Silver Spring, Montgomery County Police Spokeswoman Angela Cruz said.

The accident occurred about 8 a.m., Cruz confirmed.

According to Montgomery County Fire and Rescue Spokesman Oscar Garcia, some witnesses said the bus was traveling northbound towards the beltway, while a pick-up truck hauling a pick-up was travelling southbound on Colesville Road and they collided as the truck was making a left onto Franklin Avenue.

The bus was carrying about 15 to 20 passengers, Garcia added.

The two people injured—whose identities have not been released—were transported to Holy Cross Hospital with non-life threatening injuries, Garcia said.
